Emma

Faith in Humanity Restored 💛
I met Jessica and her blind pup, Emma (@partypantsemma), in Vancouver this weekend.
Emma is a 1.5 year old staffy mix who was born without sight.
She had congenital eye disease — one and a half eyes that didn’t work, but caused her pain.
So when she was spayed, they removed them both.
“This is her world,” Jessica said. “She doesn’t know anything different.”
Emma’s hearing is sharp, but her sense of smell? Not so much.
Her snack of choice is banana + peanut butter (so she has good taste).
Jessica said having a blind dog isn’t easy, but it’s totally worthwhile.

I believe dogs represent the best parts of humanity. Empathy, love, companionship, and a reminder that our time on this planet is infinite. By sharing these stories, I hope to inspire more people to adopt dogs, and advocate for them in our society.

What does your dog mean to you? This is your chance to share with the world. I’m looking for the most unique and beautiful stories. Service animals, stories of adoption and more. Every so often I’ll pick a standout story from the community and share it with the world - including photographing your dog.
